Also provided are extended medical and psychiatric care, rehabilitative inpatient care, and outpatient care. Treatment for substance abuse, assistance with vocational rehabilitation, employment training and education, referral for employment, food, clothing, housing, social service, and veterans benefits. Our goal is to make sure you receive the finest health care available within our resources. Our main mission is to serve the health care needs of America's veterans by providing primary health care, specialized care and related medical and social support services. We are dedicated to this mission and welcome the opportunity to serve you.

The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System has been providing care since 1933. The health care complex sits in a "paradise like semi-tropical setting" on the edge of Boca Ciega Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. For fiscal year 2005, we saw approximately 10,250 inpatients in the hospital, over 939,000 outpatient visits in the clinics, and served over 93,000 unique veteran patients. Overall, more than 3,000 veterans per day receive health care services at Bay Pines, the Fort Myers Outpatient Clinic, and our associated community based outpatient clinics. We provide physical, emotional, and psychological support for the healing and wellness process.
